Photographer of the Month

ehouse would be nothing without the talented photographers who travel the country each and every day capturing everything from country estates to cosy cottages. Whilst the office team work behind the scenes, the photographers are on the front line, and since we were founded in 2000 they have upheld ehouse’s ‘photography first’ ethos. We pride ourselves on working with such creative and experienced people.

This month we’re catching up with Sam, who works in and around Yorkshire. Here is what he has to say about a day in the life of an ehouse photographer…

Q: How long have you been a photographer?

I’ve been a photographer for nearly thirty years starting as a press photographer in London after taking a diploma in photo-journalism at the London College of Printing.  Amongst this work was property and lifestyle features which I really enjoyed and I’ve been working with ehouse for just over a year.

Q: Why did you want to become a photographer?

As a teenager I was lucky to study photography at school which led to me having a darkroom at home.  I really didn’t want to work solely in an office so a job which included travel and diversity really appealed.

Q: What is a typical day like for you working with ehouse?

In one word: satisfying! Selling a property can be stressful so advising on how best to present the property and showing the vendor the photos at the end of the job is very rewarding.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a photographer?

One day I’ll be working on a cozy cottage nestled in the hills and the next I’ll be at an imposing country house. No two days are the same, the variety and job satisfaction take some beating!
