Summer

Chalet Sisu is near the top of the village, and sits on the lower slopes of the mountainside. The garden opens directly onto the pastures, permitting children to play and explore in safety. The chalet itself is a starting point for walks and mountain bike rides.

In summer the only sound one hears from the terrace is usually from a beautiful waterfall, the "Cascade de Saubady" which is about 2km away across the valley.

From the 1st July - 31st August some of the local ski lifts operate for walkers and mountain bikes, giving easy access to the upper parts of the slopes and to the start point for the higher mountain bike trails The nearest (Vagnys) chair lift is 200m away and takes walkers and mountain bikes.

Walks range from buggy-friendly trails in the valley, through half- and one-day hikes right up to the possibility for overnight expeditions staying at the refuges (cabins)in the mountains of the Chaine de Fiz and Aiguilles Rouges...and everything in between.

The main trails are all waymarked to aid navigation. The lower slopes of the mountain are clad with mixed deciduous and conifer forest, which dwindles as one climbs up, passing through alpine pastures to the wilder upper parts of the mountains.

The Mountain Biking is magnificent and is a major attraction. The bike trails range from Black routes through the mountains to gentle Green routes (suitable for children and family groups) in the valley. For serious mountain bikers the lifts of Sixt and the Grand Massif allow fabulous days of exhilarating riding. A purpose-built downhill course (black standard) on the slopes behind the chalet will open in Summer 2008. And a 25 minute drive to Les Gets gives access to the extensive Portes du Soleil trails.
