There is one single bedded room with en suite shower room on the ground floor with French windows leading to the patio. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, and bathroom. The lounge is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen/diner is done in farmhouse style with oak beams. Payphone for incoming telephone calls only. Colour television and video recorder and a CD/Cassette radio. Gas cooker, microwave and a fridge-freezer plus an automatic washing machine and tumble drier. A cot and highchair are available on request. There is a small patio area with garden furniture and there is off road parking within 80 yards of the house on the nearby riverbank. Location: Stanners Stable stands just below Warkworth Castle, and within 80 yards of the River Coquet. Warkworth has an impressive mediaeval castle and stands in a delightful setting almost completely surrounded by the River Coquet. Boats are available for hire during the summer months and provide a unique means of enjoying the magnificent riverside scenery, there are also pleasant riverside walks. A sandy beach is within 0.5 mile and stretches 3 miles northwards towards Alnmouth.
The port of Amble is within 2 miles, has a small fishing fleet and also an excellent marina with launching facilities. Boat trips are available for sea fishing and to view the seabirds on Coquet Island. Fresh water fishing, golf and horse riding also available locally. Warkworth has several pubs, restaurants, coffee houses are all within minutes walk. Amenities: Shops, Post Office, pubs and many restaurants are close by in the village.
Key’s: The Key for the home will be located in a small key safe on the right hand side of the front door. Enter your appropriate numbers for your stay and press the top middle button. This will open the safe, revealing the key for the front door. Repeat operation to return key on leaving property. Should you make a mistake, simply press the bottom middle button, and re-enter the same code following the same procedure. The number to open this for your stay will be sent out with your brochure. Directions Public Transport: Train journey into Alnmouth Station, and a bus up to Warkworth. Or bus to Alnwick from various destinations, and bus to Warkworth. By Road:Approaching Alnwick via the A1, look for the signs directing you into Alnwick Town. Upon entering the town of Alnwick, you will find the town divided by Hotspur Tower, forming Bondgate Within/Bondgate Without. A mini roundabout on Bondgate Without (south side of the town) will give you the directions via the A1068 to Warkworth. As you enter Warkworth follow the road into the parking square, proceed to the left of the church in the village, and continue up the side of the river for 300mtr to The Stanners. The cottage can be accessed at the end of this road, by parking alongside the riverbank and walking through an Archway that leads to Stanners Stable. | |||
